Jane Bi To Represent Best Aquaculture Practices In Asia

The Global Aquaculture Alliance’s Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) division has expanded its market development team with the addition of Jane Bi as BAP’s market development manager for Asia.

Bi will help manage relationships with seafood suppliers, distributors, retailers and foodservice operators in Asia on behalf of BAP, the world’s leading third-party certification program for aquaculture facilities.

Peter Redmond, BAP’s VP of market development, said Bi’s addition to the BAP market development team demonstrates the program’s commitment to the Asian marketplace.

“Jane’s knowledge of the marketplace and understanding of the culture gives GAA a much improved position as we head deeper in to the Asian market,” said Redmond. “GAA has always believed that to try to influence any marketplace to adopt BAP certification we must have people that both understand and converse with those areas. We have no doubt that Jane will excel in this role and is already off to a brilliant start.”

Bi has been with the GAA since 2011, beginning as an intern while studying at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, USA. After graduating with a master’s degrees in intercultural and organizational communication in 2012, she joined GAA on a full-time basis as an administrative assistant. Since then, she’s been expanding her responsibilities and playing a greater role with the BAP market development team. Born in China, Bi speaks Mandarin Chinese and English fluently.

“It has been an amazing journey working for GAA,” said Bi. “GAA provides a very encouraging environment for strong leadership and global teamwork. I thoroughly enjoy the team and the opportunity to learn and grow professionally and look forward to introducing BAP to the Asian market.”

Bi is based in GAA’s St. Louis, Missouri, USA, office and can be reached at +1-314-492-5060 or
