GSA Launches Ocean Month Campaign Featuring Certified Producers

Photo of new BAP summer recipe, Grilled Shrimp Lettuce Wraps, for Ocean Month with "Sustained by Seafood" graphic and reminder to look for the Best Aquaculture Practices label. The Global Seafood Alliance has launched a consumer-facing digital marketing campaign to coincide with National Ocean Month and World Oceans Day in June. Using the theme “Sustained by Seafood,” the campaign celebrates the ocean, the resources it provides us with, and the 3,000-plus Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP)-certified producers all over the world.

The campaign aims to establish a connection between seafood products and the people who produce them while educating consumers about the BAP label and why seafood from certified producers is a responsible choice.

Throughout the month, BAP will share videos on social media from certified producers to highlight the commendable work they are doing. Producers comment on why they love working in seafood, why they chose to get BAP-certified, and the responsible fish farming practices they use to ensure workers are treated fairly, the animals are taken care of, the environment is respected, and the products are handled safely.

In addition to video content, BAP will also share new recipes that can be accessed on the BAP consumer website here, as well as seafood recipes from certified producers. GSA invites you to follow along with the #SustainedBySeafood campaign on BAP social media accounts. You can learn more about responsible aquaculture as well as the BAP label here.
