Hong Kong & Macau to Celebrate World Oceans Day with BAP-Certified Seafood

More than 30 leading restaurants and hotels in Hong Kong and Macau have created special menus highlighting responsibly sourced seafood in celebration of World Oceans Day to show their commitment toward eating responsible seafood. Starting June 6, restaurants participating in the week-long event will serve seafood from certified aquaculture operations and biologically sustainable fishing operations.

The industry-leading Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) third-party certification program grew more than 15 percent in 2019, ending the year with 2,681 BAP-certified facilities in 39 countries, the Global Aquaculture Alliance announced in mid-January.
