Two BAP Auditor Training Courses Added to 2018 Schedule

The Global Aquaculture Alliance’s (GAA) Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) division in early March announced the addition of two BAP auditor training courses to the 2018 schedule.

The first course will be held at GAA’s new headquarters in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, from June 24 to 30, and the second course will be held at the Marriott Courtyard Bali Nusa Dua Resort in Bali, Indonesia, from Oct. 21 to 27.

New auditor candidates and existing auditors requiring refresher training are welcome to attend both courses. The course is also open to industry observers, including government officials, producers and other industry stakeholders who wish to learn more about the BAP certification standards and auditing process.

Both courses will cover all BAP standards:

  • Seafood Processing Standards: Issue 4, Revision 2, December 2015
  • Finfish and Crustacean Farm Standards: Issue 2, Revision 3, November 2016
  • Mollusk Farm Standards: Version 1, May 2016
  • Salmon Farm Standards: Issue 2, Revision 3, October 2016
  • Finfish, Crustacean and Mollusk Hatchery/Nursery Standards: Version 1, September 2014
  • Feed Mill Standards: Version 2, July 2014

The registration deadline for the Portsmouth course is May 24, and the registration deadline for the Bali course is Sept. 21.

The course will be taught by Greg Brown, BAP program integrity manager; Ken Corpron, BAP program integrity analyst; Guy Ewing, a seafood processing specialist; Jeff Peterson, BAP program integrity advisor; and Shaun O’Loughlin, learning solutions specialist.

No other BAP auditor training courses are expected to be scheduled in 2018.

Please follow the instructions carefully. Improper submittals for this BAP auditor training course will be rejected. Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as participants are admitted on a space-available basis. Payment for the course must be received in advance.
