Will We See You In Dublin For GOAL 2017?

It’s a big year for the Global Aquaculture Alliance. This year we celebrate our 20th anniversary, and we do so in style just 11 weeks from now at historic Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, home of our GOAL 2017 conference.

This year’s conference theme, “The Next 20: From Promise To Delivery,” is testament to the road we’ve traveled together over the past 20 years. But more importantly it’s an opportunity to address the reality of the next 20 years. Collectively as an industry we’ve made some pretty big sustainability commitments, and now it’s time to deliver on those commitments. GOAL is a pre-competitive event, an opportunity to put day-to-day business aside, bringing together the various segments of the industry to discuss shared responsibilities and goals.

This year’s conference program is being anchored by three keynote speakers: Dr. Pearse Lyons, founder and president of animal nutrition company Alltech and a native of Ireland; Dan O’Brien, chief economist at the Institute of International and European Affairs and an Irish Independent columnist; and Chef JP McMahon, the “Ambassador of Irish Food.” What excites me about this year’s program is the speakers’ willingness to embrace change and disruption, because that’s what it’s going to take to meet our sustainability commitments over the next 20 years.

Additionally, the world’s leading retail, foodservice and wholesale seafood buyers are always well represented at the conference. Among the companies that will be represented on stage and in the audience at GOAL 2017 are The Big Prawn Co., BJ’s Wholesale Club, Bon Appétit Management Co., Brakes, Brinker International, Captain D’s, Darden Restaurants, Davigel, Direct Seafoods, Disney, Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Culinary Arts & Food Technology, Gfresh, Giant Eagle, Grand Hyatt Shanghai, JD.com, Johnson & Wales University, LBM Food Solutions Ltd., Lyons Seafood Co., Nestle Purina, Schnucks, Sysco Corp. and Waitrose. We are confirming more participants almost daily.

I hope to see you in Dublin!

Sincerely,
Wally Stevens
