The International Fish Feed Company is World’s First BAP-Certified Feed Mill in Oman

The International Fish Feed Company (IFFC) is the first feed mill in Oman to attain Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification, Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) has announced.

IFFC was established in 2023 with a state-of-the-art facility and boasts an annual production capacity of 31,200 metric tons of high-quality aquafeed, supporting responsible growth in the aquaculture sector in Oman and the region.

Said Ajit Jacob, Chief Operating Officer of International Fish Feed Company, “Achieving the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification is a significant milestone for the International Fish Feed Company and a proud moment for the aquaculture sector in Oman. Being the first feed mill in the country to receive this recognition reflects our commitment to the highest global standards in quality, sustainability, and responsible manufacturing.

Since our establishment in 2023, we have focused on building a world-class aquafeed production facility capable of supporting the rapid growth of aquaculture in Oman and the wider region. This certification reinforces our mission to provide reliable, high-quality feed solutions while contributing to the sustainable development of the seafood industry.”

“Responsible aquaculture begins with responsible inputs,” said Iain Shone, Director of Market Development at GSA. “IFFC’s certification demonstrates their commitment to responsible feed production and reflects the kind of forward-thinking leadership that drives meaningful progress in the aquaculture sector.”

IFFC’s certification is further strengthened by the recent BAP certification of Musandam Aquaculture, an Oman-based seabream producer that sources feed from IFFC. Together, these certifications show increased alignment across Oman’s aquaculture production chain and reinforces the country’s commitment to responsible seafood production.
