logan guleffTell us a bit about your background.

I just always loved food and being in the kitchen. I started cooking by making coffee at age 2 and made my first recipe at age 8. The recipe took me to NYC, another to the White House. I discovered that food can really take me places and passion turned to dreams. I won Masterchef Junior Season 2 and then really cooked some dreams from The James Beard House to trips around the world. I love being a Chef.

Why did you join GSA?

Wild caught fish is amazing, but when I was in Japan and went to the famous fish market I realized that we humans are taking unsustainable amounts of seafood from the ocean. Since fish is my favorite food it made me question how long we could keep dumping trash in the sea and reaping out seafood. I believe if we don’t turn to aquaculture the oceans around the world will be unable to meet our demands. It would be tragic to never eat fish again. So I joined GSA to learn more and hopefully be a voice of change.

What solutions does responsible aquaculture provide?

As population increase and global demand for protein increases – without aquaculture we will all be eating crickets! It is going to be that serious – eat bugs or …. die!

What are the three words that best describe the future of the industry?

Progressive,  Undeniable and Vital

Where is the most interesting place you’ve traveled to?

I love to travel so India and Japan were the most interesting and just crazy! I also LOVED China! It’s kind of like curry ramen and Stir fry tofu all unique and interesting! I learn more traveling then from books and movies and teachers! It opens the eyes, challenges preconceived notions and raises awareness about the Globe not just your small spot in your cozy home with your cute cat and grocery store. Travel makes me a better person and a better global citizen!

Thanks for being a member, Logan!
