International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feeding

Call for abstracts now open for ISFNF 2026 in Darwin, Australia

Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, has been awarded the right to host the next International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feeding (ISFNF XXII) in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia in May 2026.

Darwin, Northern Territory – The 22nd International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feeding (ISFNF XXII) is pleased to announce that the call for abstracts is now open for the conference, to be held at the Darwin Convention Centre from 18–21 May, 2026.

Set in Australia’s tropical north, Darwin offers spectacular natural landscapes including Kakadu, Litchfield, and Nitmiluk National Parks, alongside the rich cultural and artistic traditions of Australia’s First Nations peoples.

This prestigious international conference will unite leading researchers, industry experts, and policy makers from across the globe to share the latest advances in aquaculture nutrition and feeding. It also provides an unparalleled opportunity to showcase Australia’s $2 billion aquaculture industry, led by the nation’s largest and most advanced salmon sector alongside tropical strengths in barramundi, prawns, other emerging fed tropical species such as grouper, black jewfish, pompano and mud crab to name a few, and further diversity from established fed species including abalone, Murray cod, yellowtail kingfish, cobia, freshwater perch and crayfish.

“CSIRO looks forward to welcoming delegates from around the world to share the latest research and innovations in aquatic animal nutrition and feeding,” said Conference Chair and CSIRO Research Scientist, Dr. Cedric Simon, emphasizing the importance of ISFNF 2026. “Choosing Darwin as the host city gives us an opportunity to highlight Australia’s tropical aquaculture industry, and to strengthen links with our neighbours in Southeast Asia, a global hub of aquaculture activity.”
